What this is: "Accessions" are people who were actually hired into the executive-branch federal workforce, from the OPM EHRI dataset (via Impact Project's HuggingFace mirror). Includes new hires, conversions, and transfers in. Excludes the Postal Service and intelligence community. Data lags by 1–2 months from the most recent USAJobs postings.
Each bar shows actions whose effective date falls in that month, not when OPM processed them. Late-filed actions are correctly attributed to their effective month even if they appear in a later monthly publish.
